Privacy policy
Updated 3 November 2026. This English text is the official version.
Who we are
Promptslib is the library at https://promptslib.org. It is operated by AIpractics. In this notice, “we” means that operator.
Questions about this notice go to the contact published at https://aipractics.com.
Accounts
You can read the public library without an account. An account is how you save a prompt, score one, or keep a set.
If you create an account with email, we store the email address, a username, the name you enter, and a hash of the password. We do not store the password itself.
If you continue with Google or GitHub, we store the identifier that provider gives us, the email it confirms, and the name it sends. We do not receive your password at that provider.
A public prompt shows the name on the account. It does not show the email address.
Prompts, ratings, and reviews
When you save a prompt we store the title, the text, the language, the category, the tags, the audience you chose, and each revision. One save stores a new revision. Older revisions remain, so a public prompt can keep its last accepted text while a newer version waits.
A rating is a score from 1 to 5. A review is optional text with that score. The author of a prompt does not score that prompt.
A set is an ordered list of prompts on your account. It stays private to that account.
Who can see a prompt
A public prompt is listed after a reviewer accepts it. Readers see the text and the name on the account.
A personal prompt is not listed. It stays with the account that saved it. A closed prompt is not listed either. It is shown to the accounts you name.
Personal and closed prompts are still stored. People who operate the library can open them to run the service, to look into abuse, or to answer a lawful request.
The address of the connection is used to slow repeated sign-in, sign-up, and save attempts. It is not an account field and it is not shown on a profile.
Cookies
A cookie is a short note this browser keeps. The sign-in cookies are required for an account. Theme and language cookies are stored only after you choose them. The analytics cookie stores the choice itself. Until you choose, analytics stays off.
- authjs.session-token
- Keeps you signed in. On an encrypted connection the name is __Secure-authjs.session-token.
- Up to 30 days, or until you log out.
- authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-url, authjs.pkce.code_verifier, authjs.state
- Completes a Google or GitHub sign-in. On an encrypted connection these names use a __Host- or __Secure- prefix.
- About 15 minutes.
- theme
- Stores the theme you chose: light, dark, or system.
- 1 year.
- preferred-locale
- Stores the language you chose in the header or in Settings. The next visit to the site address opens in that language.
- 1 year.
- analytics
- Stores your analytics choice, granted or denied. The measurement stays off until this cookie says granted.
- 180 days. When it expires, we ask again.
- _ga and _ga_*
- Set by Google only if you allow analytics. Google may then receive the page address, a coarse location, and details of the browser. Google describes that at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Chosen by Google.
Analytics
Google Analytics, measurement id G-RDPRFBHEYK, is optional. We do not load its script, and we do not send a page address to Google, unless the analytics cookie says granted.
We use it to see which pages are opened. The library does not show ads, and we do not sell personal information.
You can allow or refuse analytics in Settings. Refusing it does not change the rest of the library. A later change to this notice does not turn analytics on. The choice you stored stays until it expires or you change it.
Why we use this information
We store the account and the prompts you save in order to provide the library you asked for.
We use the connection address, and similar limits, to keep sign-in and saving from being abused.
We use analytics only when you allow it. You can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings. Withdrawal does not undo a page view that was already sent.
Where the GDPR applies, the library you asked for is handled as a contract, the limits that keep the service reliable are a legitimate interest, and analytics is consent.
Who receives it
Readers of a public prompt receive the text and the name on the account. The accounts you name on a closed prompt receive that prompt.
The operator, and the host that runs promptslib.org, receive what is stored, because they run the service.
Google receives analytics data only if you allow analytics. Google or GitHub receives the sign-in you start with them, if you choose that sign-in.
How long we keep it
The account, its prompts, and their revisions stay until you ask us to delete them or we remove them under the terms.
Sign-in cookies last for the period above. Theme and language cookies last one year, or until you change or delete them. The analytics choice lasts 180 days. If you refuse, this browser is also asked to drop Google’s _ga cookies for this site.
The counters that slow repeated attempts last only for that short window. They are not a profile.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us, through https://aipractics.com, to show you the account data we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict a use, to object to a use, or to give you a copy.
You can withdraw analytics consent in Settings. The library works either way.
If a data-protection law applies to you, you can complain to the authority where you live.
Children
Promptslib is not directed at children under 16. Do not create an account if you are under 16.
Changes
We post changes on this page and change the date above. A change does not turn analytics on.
